Lower River Calder Valley

NO DAY TICKETS ALLOWED ON THE LOWER RIVER CALDER  VALLEY.

Lower River Calder. The Ings. Altofts. Near WF6 2PE. (w3w. love. tastier. leads).              Park in the car park provided do not take the parking spaces for boaters.                      Permanent peg 52 is in the car park and the fishing continues  upstream approximately 1600 yards to peg 1 at the upstream limit. At peg 38/39 a short cut to the left will take you across to the lower pegs .From here the Calder becomes a more meandering steadier deeper water, ideal for pole, waggler and feeder fishing with large Bream, Chub and Perch to be found with vast shoals of Roach and Dace. This is a late Autumn/Winter venue.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Lower River Calder. Wood Nook, Altofts. Nearest WF6 2PE. (w3w. mingles. locate. wrap).  Directions as above but continue past the car park down the canal to the bottom car park where the canal enters the river, please park tidily and respect other users. There are 5 pegs above the canal mouth and approx 10 pegs below. Access these peg over the lock gate nearest to the river. Fantastic fishing in the Autumn and Winter for  Roach.  Also good head of skimmers, Chub, Perch and many double figure Pike.

Lower River Calder. Lord Mexborough Estates, Near LS26 9DF (w3w. napped. ghost. prowl).                                                                                                                                                  Park in the layby at the side of the road, do not block the gate. Access to the river is by foot only. Follow the track down to the river and fish right bank upstream to the Motorway Bridge and left hand bank down stream to the Railway Bridge. It,s a bit of a hike to the river however there are large shoals of bream and weights of over 400 pounds have been recorded, along with Roach, Chub and Hyde.

(w3w love.tastier.leads) At Altofts (now Church Lane) turn right opposite the church, down Foxholes Lane to the bottom and go over the canal bridge, turn right and park on the left in the car park at the side of the river. Fishing is upstream on footpath for approx. 1200 yds approx. Do

River Calder Woodnook

(w3w mingles.locate.wrap) Go past our river car park at Foxholes Lane, Altofts and follow the canal, go under the motorway bridge to the bottom lock. Park sensibly in the car park. Pegs 1 to 5 are above the lock. Access to pegs 6 to 15 is over the lock, gain access only by using the lockgate nearest the river and follow the path to the river.

River Calder Mexborough Estates, Near LS26 9DF

Pedestrian Access Only (w3w napped.ghost.prowl) Take the A639 from Oulton or Castleford to Methley, at the Railway Bridge take the B6135 Watergate road and find Layby on left with Green Gates, park in layby responsibly, do not obstruct the green gates as access is required at all times by farm vehicles, pedestrian access only, down the track to the River. Fish upstream from Motor Way Bridge to Railway Bridge downstream.
