After a night of -6 the river fished reasonably well ,drawing Woodnook and fishing the long rod and maggot Knaresborough’s Dave Crawford took the spoils with Roach and Dace for 10lb-00oz.

Drawn on the Woodnook stretch of the River Calder, Mirfield angler Norman Thewlis won the match with 14lb-08oz of Roach.
After weeks of heavy rain the Canal fished reasonably well ,leading the way was Bradford’s Craig Turbitt with a14lb-06oz net of fish.
The river was carrying extra water Carl Chadwick fishing in the 40s won with an all roach catch of 13lb-10oz.
Conditions cold and wet but coming up trumps was Mirfields Eric Green with 2 Bream and 10 skimmers on the feeder for 14lb-15oz.
With a coloured canal it made the bream get their heads down, Leading the way was Ian Bowman of Barnsley with a weight of 44lb-10oz.
Due to Storm Babet all river matches were cancelled making the canals an alternative fixture but cold water didn’t help weights ,leading the way on the road side was Pete Kitwood with 1 Bream and the rest made up of Roach for 12lb-15oz.
This match was fished in Gale force winds making presenting a bait almost impossible, beating the conditions was Ossett’s Mick Bowers wit 12lb-10oz of caster Roach.
